A flood watch is in effect for Johnson, Emanuel, Laurens, Treutlen, Wilcox, Dodge, Telfair, Wheeler, Montgomery, and Toombs Counties from Sunday morning through Sunday evening.
A low pressure system developing over the plains will continue to strengthen as it moves eastward through Sunday. Abundant Gulf moisture will spread north in advance of this storm system. Periods of heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms are expected on Sunday...with the rain ending Sunday night.
Widespread rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches...with a potential for isolated higher amounts...are expected across most of north and central Georgia beginning early Sunday morning...continuing into Sunday evening.
