A wind advisory is in effect for Effingham, Bryan, Chatham, Long, Liberty, and McIntosh Counties in southeastern Georgia as well as for Colleton, Beaufort, Charleston, and Jasper Counties in South Carolina until 5 am Monday.
Ahead of a strong cold front, south winds will average 25 to 35 mph with gusts as high as 45 mph overnight. After the cold front passes late tonight...winds will shift to the southwest and will diminish across the region.
A wind advisory means that winds of 31 to 39 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution...especially on bridges and overpasses.
