The Calm Before the Storm

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Folks, it's on the way. Our weekend storm.

This is a bad winter storm that's hitting parts of the southern plains right now. This is a storm that will shut down travel and knock out power for days in some locations. Tonight and Friday, ice will reach from north central Texas through Oklahoma and Arkansas to Tennessee. This storm is also producing very heavy rain though further south.

So what will we see and when will see it?

For tonight, it will stay quiet and dry. A few more clouds will be found as skies become partly cloudy. We will also stay above freezing with lows in the upper 30s to the mid 40s.

On Friday, clouds will increase throughout the day, and skies will become mostly cloudy. Highs will reach the upper 50s to the mid 60s.

It's not until Friday night that we will see rain approach the area. Rain will become likely overnight.

On Saturday, expect rain. It could be heavy at times, winds will be brisk and it will stay cool with highs topping out in the upper 40s to the lower 50s.

Even Saturday night, once the rain stops falling, we will still see areas of drizzle. It will turn even colder as we drop to lows in the upper 20s to the mid 30s.

On Sunday, the sunshine is back in the forecast, but it will stay chilly with highs only reaching the lower 50s.

Keep Looking Up!
