It may have been a cool start this morning, but this didn't prevent a mild afternoon. This is just the beginning of more to come.
By the end of the work week, highs could approach 80 degrees.
There is one problem though.
Warmer weather isn't the only thing in the forecast. A risk of severe weather is coming back too.
For tonight, we have a disturbance right off the coast. This disturbance will push farther offshore overnight, and it will take some of the cloud cover with it. Expect decreasing clouds with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies during the overnight hours. With light southwest winds, inland areas will drop to lows in the mid to upper 40s, and coastal areas will drop to the lower to mid 50s.
On Wednesday, we will see a mix of sun and clouds with southwest winds. It will become warmer with highs reaching the upper 60s at the coast and the lower to mid 70s farther inland. By late afternoon, we could see a few more clouds.
On Wednesday night, skies will become mostly cloudy, and there is a slight chance of rain showers. This is a low chance...only about 20%. It will be even milder overnight with lows in the upper 50s.
On Thursday, a warm front will lift through the area. Again we are expecting variably cloudy skies with a slight chance of rain showers. It will warm up even more. Highs could reach the mid to possibly upper 70s.
Then it gets interesting on Friday. Breezy southwest winds will develop, and this will boost our highs to near-record highs. Some areas could approach 80 degrees. But a cold front is forecast to push through, possibly during the afternoon. This could set off showers and thunderstorms, and some of these storms could be strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center already has our area under a risk, so stay tuned to STORM TEAM 3.
Keep Looking Up!
